to take care of KouHin (XingBang).
It has been several days since he
moved to his new enclosure,
but he is still staying inside for the
whole day. The leaders of the animal
department are observing his behavior
to know the best time to let him go outside.
It's too hot in Chengdu around this season,
and most of the Pandas only stay outside
at night and early in the morning.
They come inside at around 10 in the morning,
so it's not just KouHin that spends most
of the time inside.
For the past few days, KouHin has
become used to his new enclosure,
and it seems that he is relaxing and
doing great.
We gave him his breakfast apple
and he looked happy as usual.
"Good morning Yumi, thank you
for my favorite apple!"
He closed his eyes to enjoy the taste
of his apple.
"Don't worry Yumi, I'm being a
good boy so I should be able to
go outside in a few days."
Pandas have strong jaws and
they peel bamboo skins carefully
to eat the inside part. These are the
left overs.
KouHin's feces had good smells, and he was
healthy as usual.
Pandas have strong paws.
Their long sharp nails help them
to climb trees when they need to
escape from enemies in the wild.
"Can I have some more Panda Cakes please?"
He looks so desperate when he's asking
for food!
In the afternoon, KouHin was waiting
for his favorite Panda Cakes.
Last month he didn't seem to like
Panda Cakes so much, but now he
love them again. He has good appetite.
One of the Panda Cakes got stuck
in his mouth. He shaked his head
to put it back in the right position.
"I must have been too greedy to
try to swallow it at once!"
KouHin enjoyed his Panda Cakes
so much that he had all the crumbs
around his mouth and nose.
Greedy little boy!
