KouHin (XingBang), ShuHin (QiuBang)
and RyuHin (LongBang).
今日は幸浜、秋浜、隆浜の飼育をしました。
飼育員が体調不良で一人欠けていたため、
朝から大忙しでした。
This is KouHin in the morning.
He looks bored with nothing to do.
朝の幸浜。
やることがなく退屈にしていたみたいです。
As I called his name in Japanese,
he did respond but started to drink water.
日本語で名前を呼びかけると、
慌てて飛び起きて水を飲みに来ました。
He had some bite on his bamboo.
竹も少しかじってみたりします。
He had been scratching his bed for the past few days,
and now it is broken.
ここ数日幸浜の前を通りかかる度に気になっていたのですが、
毎日少しずつベッドの木を削っていたようで、ついに
壊れてしまいました。無残な姿ですが、これも良くあること。
飼育員は「大丈夫、新しいのを作ってもらうから」と
笑顔で言っていました。
When I went to see him after cleaning KouHin's enclosure,
he was lying on the floor with bamboo all over him.
掃除が終わって見に行ってみると、
寝そべってご飯を食べていました。
すぐ隣の部屋に幸浜がいて
掃除をするのは結構楽しいです。
隣でドタバタ騒いでいるのも聞こえてきます。
"HAHAHA, I love bamboo!"
「今日の笹、美味しいよね！」
KouHin eats lying on the floor.
寝そべったまま美味しそうな笹を探している幸浜。
And then he does my favorite angle for me.
私の大好きなアングルでポーズをとってくれます。
In the morning, we had so many things to do,
cleaning KouHin's area, ShuHin's area and
RyuHin's area, so we came back in the
afternoon to give them their favorite treat.
午前中は仕事が多くてあまりゆっくり
幸浜達にかまってあげられなかったので、
午後にちゃんと面倒を見に行きました。
KouHin had been waiting for us to arrive,
and he rushed towards us as soon as he saw us.
午後に到着すると、待ち構えていたように
急いで走って近寄って来ました。
This is KouHin enjoying his Panda Cakes.
午後は大好きなパンダケーキがもらえます。
いつ見ても、子供みたいな顔をして
パンダケーキを食べています。
"Yummy! I was looking forward to this!"
「ぐふふ、ずっとパンダケーキを楽しみにしていたんだよね！」

"Can I have some more? I know that I can have
four Panda Cakes everyday."
「もっとくれる？一日4個食べて良いんだよね？」
"Please?"
「ね、もっとくれるよね？」
I gave him some excersize today.
Because of the hot and humid weather,
KouHin didn't want to stand up,
but in the end he realized that he
can't have the Panda Cakes unless
he stands up.
今日は少し運動も兼ねて
幸浜を立たせてみました。
オスのパンダは後ろ足を鍛えるために
運動をさせないといけないんです。
これも将来立派なお父さんになるための
訓練。頑張れ幸浜！
This is ShuHin in the morning.
He came for some apples.
朝の秋浜。
リンゴが欲しくて走ってきました。
ShuHin is ErXi's father.
ErXi has the same eyes and nose as
ShuHin. They sometimes do the same
expression too.
秋浜は、あーちゃんのお父さんでもあります。
あーちゃんは、目と鼻が秋浜に似ています。
この親子、時々同じ表情を浮かべます。
He stands up to show that he is strong and fit.
自分が強いんだってアピール中の秋浜
"Can I have some more?"
We have to make sure that we don't give
them too much apples and Panda Cakes,
because then they wouldn't eat enough
bamboo.
「もっとちょうだい！」
リンゴやパンダケーキを一度にあげすぎると
竹を食べなくなるため、数を数えながら
慎重にあげているのですが、秋浜は食欲が
旺盛で、いくらでも欲しがります。
ShuHin is always hungry.
He eats a lot everyday, and still asks for more!
いくらあげても「もっとくれ～」と
柵越しに可愛い顔をしてみます。

He asks for more so many times, no matter how much
food we give him. He loves everything as long as it is
something he can eat.
秋浜は食欲が旺盛すぎて
飼育員も驚くほどだそうです。
夜タケノコを一箱あげても、
一時間後にはカラになっているそうです。
また追加してあげても、1時間後には
カラ。どれだけ食べれば気が済むのでしょうか・・・。

He gets some more apples. He's lucky today.
今日はリンゴをもう一個だけもらいました。
「やったね！」
ShuHin does the "nose between bars"
いつものように柵の間から鼻を出してくれました。
This is RyuHin in the morning.
For the past few days, I see him sleeping on the
same spot, which makes me wonder if he is alive.
RyuHin spends most of the time outside, and it
seems that he doesn't want to stay inside even when
it is hot and humid. Is he really a Panda?
朝の隆浜。
ここ数日、同じ場所で同じような恰好で寝ている
姿しか見ません。ちゃんと生きているのか
心配になりますが、時々気持ち良さそうに
寝返りをうっているので大丈夫みたいです。
最近の暑さと湿気の中でも外にいる方が
好きらしく、本当にパンダ？と疑問に思います。
呼び戻すのも、秋浜や幸浜に比べると
大変なんです。秋浜や幸浜は、ドアを開ければ
すぐに走ってきてくれます。
パンダも性格はそれぞれなんですね。
In the afternoon, he came running back inside
because he knew it was time for his special
drink.
午後に、大好きな栄養ドリンクが欲しくて
やっと戻ってきてくれました。
He didn't eat Panda Cakes as usual,
but instead he had his favorite nutritious
drink and bamboo.
いつも通りパンダケーキは食べませんでしたが、
大好きな栄養ドリンクを時間をかけて飲んでいました。
竹もムシャムシャ食べました。
This is RyuHin doing "Nose between bars"
隆浜も柵の間から鼻を出してくれました。
The Japan born Pandas mean so much to me.
They are bilingual, although they are clever
enough to pretend that they don't hear me sometimes.
日本生まれのパンダ達は、やはり可愛いです。
しかも、バイリンガルで賢いです。賢すぎて時々
理解しているのにわざと知らんぷりもします。
Tomorrow I will take care of MeiLan.
明日はアトランタ生まれの美蘭の飼育をします。
