in the Young Cubs Englosure.
The morning work starts very early here so that the
visitors can see active young cubs playing in their
outside den. It's one of the most popular enclosures
at Panda Base.
We cleaned the outside den and put
lots of fresh bamboo.
For a couple of days, we are out of water in this enclosure.
So, we carry our bucket to the Sunshine Nursery
to get fresh water for the Pandas.
Here is Mr. Tang, the wonderful keeper at the Young Cubs
Enclosure. He takes care of XiangBing, ShuRong,
QiQi, ZhiZhi, WenLi (DaDa) and YaLi (XiaoXiao).
I think he is also one of the Supermans that work for the
Panda Base.

Panda Cakes. Today the weather was not too hot,
and the cubs stayed outside for the whole day.
We had to call them inside for a moment to weigh them.
Mr. Tang called their names and the cubs were ready
to go inside.
The cubs weigh around 53-58 kg.
Although "XiaoXiao" means small, she is the heaviest one
among all four of them.
DaDa started to entertain the visitors this afternoon.
She puts a smile on her face, and everyone
watching her were delighted to see her cute behavior.
This is XiangBing and ShuRong.
They have a very close relationship, and
stays together most of the times.
They are sleeping on their platform.
In the afternoon, we gave them some excersize.
This is ShuRong standing up to get her Panda Cakes.

ShuRong licks her hands carefully
to eat all the crumbs.
It's not easy to weigh all the Pandas, especially
where there are several pandas kept in the same enclosure.
We attract them with their favorite food so that
they will sit on the scale while we weigh them.
This is ShuRong sitting on her scale.
ShuRong took XiangBing's Panda Cake.
ShuRong weighs 98kg, while XiangBing weighs
84kg. ShuRong loves eating, and even when she
grabs XiangBing's food from her, XiangBing is
always calm and does not fight back for her food.
But XiangBing looks so sad today.
"HAHA, I have extra Panda Cakes today!"
