that has just moved to the Adult Area two days ago.
When I went to visit him yesterday, he seemed unconfortable
and was walking around in circles continuously, but today
KouHin was sitting calm. On the other hand, YuHin (XiongBang)
who lives next doors to KouHin was roaring like a bear
because he had to come inside although he prefered to stay outside.
今朝は、２日前の夜成年パンダエリアに移動してきた
幸浜の飼育をしました。昨日会いに来た時、新しい
住処に慣れずそわそわしていた幸浜ですが、
今朝私が到着した時は大人しく座っていました。
隣では外にいたいのに掃除のために無理やり室内に
連れ戻された雄浜が「ガオーーーッ」とクマのように
鳴いていました。パンダってクマみたいに鳴くことがあるんですね。
At the Chengdu Panda Base, when the pandas move to
new enclosures, they stay inside for a while so that
the keepers can observe their behaviour to see if they are
adjusting. KouHin acted like a child to say he wants to
go outside to play in his outside den.
パンダがエリアのお引越しをする際
しばらくは室内で様子を観察し、タイミングを
見て室外運動場に出すことになっています。
幸浜は外に行きたくて寝そべったまま
駄々をこねていました。
He had his favorite apples just behind him,
but was too upset to eat them.
大好物のリンゴがすぐ後ろに転がっているというのに、
気分が落ち込んでいるのか放ったままにしていました。
I grabbed the apple and showed it to KouHin
once more to see if he is interested. He suddenly
remembered that he could have apples and started to
eat. He held the apple in his hand and scratched
his chin with his legs.
リンゴを拾って見せたところ、
突然思い出したように私から奪い取り
ムシャムシャ食べはじめました。
リンゴを手に持ったまま、必死に顎をかいています。
"I love apples so much!! I was too upset and completely forgot!"
「リンゴ、美味しいね。落ち込んでいて忘れていたよ！」
"Yummmmmmy!"
「ンメエ！！」
He looks me in my eyes and tells me
how much he wanted to go outside.
それでも外に行きたくてジーっと私を
見つめています。
"I promise to be a good boy so can I go outside?"
「良い子にしているから外に出ても良い？」
"Pleeeeeeease?"
「ね、お願い！」
KouHin watched me all the time while I was cleaning
his enclosure.
"Thank you for cleaning my enclosure"
私が隣の幸浜の室内スペースを掃除している間、
ずーっと見張っていました。
「僕のために綺麗にしてくれてありがとー。」
He tried to draw attention by rolling around.
ひっくり返って注目を浴びようとしている幸浜。
But suddenly he had a diarrhea.
しかし、調子が悪いのか、突然下痢をしてしまいました。
He's feces were not the same as usual.
We were planning to let KouHin go outside today,
but decided that we should keep him inside
to see if he is doing OK.
粘液便のような、普段とは違う糞でした。
パンダは数ヶ月に一回、このような粘液便を
することもあるのですが、すぐに調子は元通りになります。
飼育員の白さんと相談して、今日はもう少し室内で
様子を見ることになってしまいました・・・。
Instead of going outside, KouHin got another
apple and seemed happy.
追加でリンゴを貰ってご機嫌な幸浜。
He looks so happy when he is eating.
食べている時の嬉しそうな顔は
相変わらずです。少し安心しました。
He also ate some bamboo.
笹もしっかり食べています。
The shower took all the dirt off his back
from when he moved to this enclosure.
Now he is back to a normal Panda!
シャワーをしたおかげで背中も
綺麗になりました。昨日会いに来た時は
何が起きたのかと思うほど茶色かったのですが、
すっかりクマからパンダに戻りました。
As I called his name in Japanese,
he looked up and reacted.
私が近くで名前を呼ぶと、
いつものように振り返ってくれます。
サービス精神旺盛な幸浜です。
Although I scrubbed all the dirt in his
inside enclosure, KouHin was still
smelling around.
一生懸命室内を綺麗にしたのですが、
やはり前任者の匂いが気になるのか、
匂いを嗅いで歩いていました。
He grabbed the key to his outside den.
外に出る扉の鍵をがちゃがちゃ
動かしてみます。
"Oh no, it doesn't work..."
「やっぱり開かなかった・・・」
He showed his back to me
to show that he is clean now.
背中を向けてお座り。
He tried to escape again with bamboo fringe
on his arm.
腕に笹のフリンジをつけて隣に
脱走しようと画策中。
"If I work hard on this, I have a feeling that
I could go outside"
「頑張れば行けそうな気がするんだよね。」
"Would it work if I push hard?"
「力ずくで押しても駄目かな？」
He gave up and ate some more bamboo.
諦めて笹を食べ始めました。
I think he is going to speak Japanese
eventually.
この表情、幸浜は良くするんです。
コミュニケーションを取ろうとしている
みたいです。そのうち本当に日本語を
話し出すのではないかと思っています。
"I'm bored. I thought I was allowed to go outside today,
and I had been looking forward to it"
「つまらないなぁ。今日は外に出られると思っていたのに。」
「うぉーーーーーーーーーー！！」
It might take some time for him to get
used to his new enclosure.
I will make sure he feels safe in the coming days.
新しい住処に慣れるまでの間、
様子を見に幸浜に会いに行こうと思います。
