Young Cubs Enclosure @CRBGPB

This morning I arrived at the Young cub's enclosure at 7:30 to start my morning activities.
Here is QiQi, ZhiZhi, WenLi (DaDa) and YaLi (XiaoXiao).
DaDa means big and XiaoXiao means small in Chinese
and they have been called like this because they are
twin sisters. WenLi is YaLi's older sister (few hour difference).

The first thing we did in the morning is to clean
their outside playground. Collecting feces and weighing them
to make sure that they have good appetite,
collecting left over bamboo and bamboo shoots,
and cleaning the pond. The keeper Mr.Tang takes care of
6 Pandas at the moment, the four 2009 born cubs and
also XiangBing and Shurong that live next doors.
So much hard work to do in the morning and my body is
aching. It's amazing that the keepers do this every single day.

This is the huge outside playground for the four 2009 born cubs.

After cleaning the outside playground,
we give the four cubs their morning milk.
ZhiZhi on the left got too excited, and spilt some of the
milk on the floor...

ZhiZhi with milk all over her face.
She is so cute.

This is the milk powder that we mixed.
Milk made for human babies and puppies?
They're not specially made for the Pandas.

After milk time, we gave the four cubs a shower,
and let them go outside so that the visitors can see
their wonderful behaviours.

Then we started to clean the inside enclosures.
Lots of left over bamboo shoot and feces.

This is how it looks after cleaning the enclosure.
There are 4 inside enclosures to clean every day.
The bamboo shoots on the left are new ones to feed
them in the afternoon when they come back inside.

Panda feces.
In this season Pandas eat lots of bamboo shoot
which makes the feces look more yellowish
compared to the winter time when they only eat
bamboo. The smell is not so good, and is really heavy.

The Panda cakes arrive at the enclosure around 11:00am,
and then it's show time! We use the fishing rod made from bamboo
to make them stand up and have some excersize.
I don't have any pictures of me giving their morning excersize
because I was doing it.
We fed them with half a Panda cake and half an apple each.
QiQi is on the right in this picture, and to my surprise
she walked a few steps when I tried to move her aside.
But it's not the same way as WuYi at moonlight does it.
QiQi does it in a cute way.
(Pambassador David, I'm not critisizing your WuYi
because his steps and dance is also adorable in a different way!)

QiQi enjoying her Panda cakes.
Her small eye patch and ears are so charming!

This is also QiQi enjoying her apple.

After feeding the 2009 born cubs,
we went to feed XiangBing and ShuRong
next doors.

This is ShuRong being active and climbing trees.
Pandas are so flexible.

ShuRong looks so proud to be high
up in the tree.

XiangBing on the left and ShuRong on the right
having their lunch together. They have had close
relationships since they were born and it has not
changed even after nearly 4 years.

Tomorrow morning I will go to the Sunshine
to meet the 2010 born cubs.
