ErXi@Sunshine Nursery, CRBGPB

This morning I arrived at the Sunshine Nursery
at 8am. I was hoping I could take care of
ErXi, the first baby of the Japan born Panda ShuHin (QiuBang).
Although I had been at the Sunshine Nursery
a couple of times to have close contact
with the 2010 born cubs, ErXi never came up to me,
and stayed far away from me on top of trees for most of the days.

This morning, things were different.
I was looking up in the trees to find him
as usual, but he was right there in front of me!!!!!

"Hellooo. How are you today?"

"Today I have been waiting for you
because I heard that you really want to
take good care of me!"

ErXi has a long nose, which is just the
same as the Japanese "Bang" family.

He started to bite my keeper's boots.

He sometimes looks up to make sure he's doing the
right thing.

"HAHAHA, this is fun!"

While I was taking pictures of ErXi,
other cubbies also came around me.

ErXi would not stop biting my boots.

And then another cub got curious,
and watched ErXi to follow his behavior.

ErXi is also curious about my camera.
It's a Sony α NEX-5 with a zoom lense.
He came close many times, and bumped
into my camera lense.

Two cubs lying down and playing with each other.

ErXi walking around and striking a pose.
I love watching little cubs walking and running.
It just makes us smile.

They're sometimes so fast that
it's hard to take good pictures.

ErXi biting my Sony NEX-5 camera strap.
I'm going to keep this forever.

ErXi follows me wherever I go.

Then he went to the pond to drink some water.

Now ErXi is ready to climb a tree.

He looks up to make sure that the tree
is just the right size for him.

When the cubs show me how they
climb trees easily, it always reminds me
that Pandas are not just cute and fluffy.
They have long sharp claws and
muscules that let them climb trees easily.

"HAHA, I made it to the top!
I'm so good at climbing trees!"

ErXi fighting with another cute cub to get the best position.

The keeper took a picture of me and ErXi.

I went to the No. 2 Enclosure in the afternoon
to take care of MeiLan, LinLin and SiYuan
and I will upload pictures in my next blog post soon.
