MeiLan, KeBi, SiYuan and the six 2008 born cubs.
This is MeiLan born in Zoo Atlanta in 2006.
She came to Chengdu Panda Base last year,
and is popular among American Panda fans
and Panda fans around the world.
It's amazing to see that she responds to English so well.
She does the "Nose between bars"
just like the Japan born Pandas.
She shows that she welcomes me.
This is MeiLan's outside den.
It is full of trees and she even has a swing of her own,
but MeiLan is always sleeping or walking near the
door to her inside enclosure.
These are MeiLan's feces.
The brownish ones are from bamboo,
and the yellowish ones are from bamboo shoot.
Pandas used to be carnivorous animals a long time ago,
and their digesting system is very complicated.
Although they only eat bamboo and bamboo shoot nowadays,
almost 80% of the things they eat come out as feces
without being digested. This is the main reason why
Pandas have to eat all day, to take essential nourishments.
And "Panda Cakes" help them take in the
essential nourishments too.
Main ingredients of Panda Cakes:
Corn, rice, soybean, adult centrum tablets, cereal,
calcium carbonate, calcium hydrophosphate and salt.
These are MeiLan's left overs.
She ate most of the bamboo during the night time.
MeiLan got bored staying inside without any food
while I was cleaning her outside den.
As soon as I came back inside,
she came up to me to say she's so hungry!
But unfortunately, fresh bamboo has not
arrived yet, and she needs to wait a bit longer.
MeiLan comes close to show off her charm.
But then she began to get mad at me,
and started to climb the bars!
"GIVE ME SOME FOOOOOOD!!!"
I've never seen MeiLan acting in such an
emotional way...
In a few minutes, fresh bamboo arrived.
At last it's time for breakfast.
"Please forgive me that I was so rude to you"
All the Pandas loved today's bamboo.
Sometimes when the weather is rainy and
bamboo has mud or some smell on it,
Pandas leave it without eating them.
It must have been so tasty today!
MeiLan has fluffy fur around her cheeks
which make her look so special.
This is KeBi born in 1992.
He is the elder brother of MeiMei（梅梅）,
the super mother that was in Adventure World in Japan.
He moved to the No. 2 Enclosure a few days ago
next doors to MeiLan.
KeBi grabs all the bamboo and keeps them on his tummy.
This is SiYuan born in 2004.
She has white fur on her hands
that makes her look like she's wearing
white gloves.
The keeper Mr. Song fed SiYuan with
her favorite Panda Cakes.
But SiYuan is so clever,
she's waiting for more although she
already has one in her hand.
She did the same when she was in the
Subadult area last year. It's always interesting
to see the different characters of each
Pandas.
These are the 2008 born cubs.
There are six of them in the same enclosure,
and the one in the middle on top of the world is YuanZi.

He is such a greedy boy!
This is NiNi.
She doesn't eat Panda Cakes on it's own,
so we fed her with apples.
She only eats Panda Cakes when they are
mashed and mixed with milk like a porriage.
This is QiFu eating her Panda Cakes
with her eyes closed.
Tomorrow I will be at the Adult Area
to take care of YuHin (XiongBang) from
Adventure World Japan.
